something that many people will be lucky enough to never understand
has been something i struggled with for most of my life.
the depth at which you miss someone who can no longer be here on this earth,
leaves you feeling abandoned and alone and the worst part is
feeling like you are the only one that feels this way.

watching my week with marilyn, I was moved by her struggle.
i felt deep compassion and understanding for her pain, but also saw
the strength in character because despite her losses she rose to be one of the most
powerful and successful women of her time.
all on her own.

the only thing for certain is that everything changes.
it could be useful to remind ourselves that our basic needs never change:
the need to be seen and appreciated,
the need for nearness and care,
and for a little love.

this is given only through slowness in human relations.
in order to master changes we have to recover slowness,
reflection, and togetherness. there we will find renewal.
